Gary Player Golf Course

Arguably the most famous golf course in South Africa, since 1981 the Gary Player Golf Course has been home to the Nedbank Golf Challenge, a select tournament with only 12 players in the field. It was the first tournament in history to offer a first prize of $1 million. Past winners include Seve Ballesteros, Bernard Langer and Ernie Els.

Constantly ranked as the number 1 course in South Africa, it is easy to see what keeps bringing these great champions back year after year. With its super lush fairways, well placed bunkers and lightening fast greens, this is a great opportunity to test all the shots in your bag.

From the back tees the course measures over 7000 metres, making it a real monster, however with a number of different tees in use for club golfers, the course has great playability for all level of golfers.

A real feature hole on the course is the 9th, Par 5 A real risk and reward hole, playing from the front tees, hit a good drive and then comes the fun, do you take on the small island green with your second ? Go for it - Hit the green and just imagine the packed stands around the green cheering you on, on the Sunday of the Nedbank Challenge.

Lost City Golf Course

The second course within the Sun City complex, The Lost City Golf Course is a desert style course carved out from the undulating terrain with large fairways and receptive greens making this course a real treat for golfers of all levels.

Playing the back nine will give up the impression of actually playing on a golfing safari, many of the holes have elevated tees with spectacular views of the African bushveld all around, making this one of the most visually stunning courses in the country.

The feature hole of the course would probably be the par 3, 13th – Playing from an elevated tee to a large green with protection coming from a large water hazard that is inhabited by 38 crocodiles, some nearly 2 metres long. Obviously golfers are encouraged to NOT try and retrieve any stray tee shots.
